Task 1

We were tasked to present innovative concepts and give solutions to our clients. Firstly, Mr. Choong gave us multiple options of projects we could go for and I picked the 'Sang Guardian' project as it includes my specialization of concept design.

We created personas for the project and necessary information like the problem statement, insight discovery, contextual research, and interviews before proceeding to our creative process.

After a long week of contextual research, we started with conducting interviews. Designing questions are quite challenging as we need to both make the questions that answers our problem statement while engaging enough to prevent the kids from losing their attention span.

Interviews

Initially we went for a survey, however Mr Mike warn us that surveys might take so long that the kids might lose their attention and not finishing it, therefore we changed it into an interview. Me and Junzhe are in charge of presenting the bedroom questions, Trinity with the Bunis, Lee Ren with the cakehouse, and lastly Hadiya with Salmah's mother.

Data Analysis

After the interviews, we started compiling and analyzing the answers to enhance our knowledge regarding our problem statements.

After weeks of researching, we finally started with our designs. I was in charge of producing bedroom designs for the characters. I started off with some visual references from Pinterest and other websites.

I then create multiple sketches for both sketches, looking for the best composition and angle.

Maisarah's room

I initially thought that Maisarah would be someone who lives in a condominium, but after some feedback and research, I then changed it into a wooden longhouse.

Some "side quests" of this project includes playing around with the appearance of the Leaf Buni and the character turnaround as my groupmate Trinity was struggling with it, hence we switched tasks as it is nice to do something different once in a while. I did the turnaround while Trinity helped out on Alya's room.

Lastly, we created the slides to compile all our final work and present to Ms Han, hopefully she likes it!

Reflection

I would blame myself for my bad time management as I was not able to submit everything on time. However, I am trying my best to get rid of this habit. Self-reflections aside, I really enjoyed working on some interior design even though it was not my strong point but it was good to try something new every day.
