Research
We started brainstorming for a clear art direction for the team to follow
and agreed on by throwing ideas and images that would assist in finding
our art direction.
Figure2.1, Moodboard
The team then picked one image that would fit best for our art direction.
For our art style, we agreed on a graphical and simplistic style for the
packaging and mascot. We chose a pastel and soft colour palette for our
packaging design as it fits the "softness" of ice cream. Moreover, we
agreed on using the Recoleta font for our headings and Sofia Pro font for
our paragraphs as we think these were best suited.
Figure2.2, Wininng Votes
I started creating the mascot for our brand as it statistically helps to
promote the brand. Before creating a mascot, I thought of some prompts to
create the mascot as it gives me a vision of what kind of mascot it would
be like.
Figure2.3, initial sketch ideas
I then further refined my chosen ideas: "anime mascot" and "cute little
oat mascots". The team preferred the cute little mascots as it is
simpler and more distinguishable whereas they commented that there
weren't that distinguishable at first glance and weren't relevant to the
product.
Figure2.4, 2nd sketch ideas
The team concluded that a simpler-looking mascot would be suitable
for us, so we developed a cute ice cream mascot with an oat sidekick,
adding some clothing as well for aesthetics.
Figure2.5, Selected designs to finalize
We presented our ideas to the Business Department for feedback and
they suggested a star-shaped mascot with different outfits to
represent each flavor.
Figure2.6, Mascot idea suggestion from The Business School
However, after some discussions with our team, we felt that a star
has no relevance to the product and decided to improvise. By keeping
the outfits but maintaining our initial idea, we came up with our 2nd
sketch of mascot designs.
Figure2.7, Improved Sketches
After more discussions, we finalized our design of our four mascots.
the 1st and 2nd one being the main mascot of the brand and the 3rd -
5th mascot being the representatives for each flavor.
Figure2.8, Finalizing stage of mascot design
Made the mascots into an Illustrator file (.ai).
Figure2.9, converting designs into Adobe Illustator as vector files
I was then assigned to develop some icons for the "Benefits"
section

Lastly, I create some graphical elements for the website
layout.
