Production Team

Producer- Supervises the production

Screenwriter- In charge of story writing

Director- Creative leads of the film, guides the story plot through the final edit.

Assistant Director- Assists the director

Photography Director- In charge of lighting and cameras

Gaffer- Responsible for the execution of the lighting plan

Sound Recordist- Records audio of the video for editing

Production Designer- Create props for the video

Film Editor- Pieces the clips into the final video

Mise En Scène

Refers to what we see on stage, the visuals, meaning. All the elements that appeared on camera and their arrangements.

 "Everything in the frame carries a meaning".

Task

Lalin (Video Editing)

We were tasked to crop a 1 video that was split into different clips, and create a 30 second video version of it.

Music Video Exercise

We were tasked to create a 30-second music video with groupmates. We chose a playground for our video shooting.

We planned on going to a park near my friend's house for the video shooting. Additionally, we never knew that video shooting is so time consuming that we took the entire morning to finish everything (we tried to wrap it up as soon as possible before the harsh afternoon sunlight comes).

After several shots, we are done! I then edit the video on After Effects.

Production Shoot Video

We were tasked to create a movie trailer with groupmates.

After hours of retaking clips, we finally got what we wanted... And now it's time to put the videos and audios in Premiere Pro.

Reflection

I really liked the process of the assignment. They were interesting to create, especially the group project. During the week after the briefing, I was chosen to be the actor and my friend Dzidane as the "actress". Also did I forget to mention this assignment was also an expensive one? As someone with close to none fashion sense, my friend Jun Zhe the production designer, told me to get some fashion-trendy clothes, I don't want to remember the price tag of that jeans. During the photoshoot, we did a really good job with the acting, only having to retake 3-5 times, we all enjoyed the photography session except for the afternoon sunlight. Moreover, everyone has to edit their individual version of the video. I had fun piecing the clips together with the audio, if only I did not procrastinate until the very last day, I would have enjoyed every process of this assignment.-
