Exercises

We were tasked to pick either 3 stop-motion or 3 visual effects video, and post them into our blog for further as reference.

This stop motion animation is so smooth it really makes inanimate objects come to life, I had to feature it. The understanding of body movements made the lifeless little beans look "alive".
Some simple panning and zooming of the camera enhance the liveliness of the animation as well.

Claymation is a type of sop motion animation where the clay subjects were moved and captured frame by frame to create an animated story. This artist created a creature and treadmill only by using simple shapes, it makes it easier to animate as there are fewer joints you have to move.

This artist tells us that stop motion could be also made with minimal requirements, all you need is a camera and things as simple as a wooden board as a subject. But a moderate understanding of movement is required to ensure a smooth stop motion animation.

Week1 Editing Excercise

Mr Martin gave us an exercise where we need to align different clips into a complete video.

In the other exercise, this time the clips were arranged in random order and we have to arrange them in order.

Week 2 Editing Excercise

We were tasked to piece the clips of a video and add the text bubbles given in the "graphics" folder. The entire video must be cropped to 30 seconds long.

I start every text bubble's opacity at 0%, then increase its opacity swiftly to create a "pop-up" effect.

Reflection

These exercises have made me familiarise Premiere Pro effectively, I now know how to make basic edits thanks to these exercises.
